In this project we\u00a0explored areas of contact between mathematical and craft practices. We participated in a regular\u00a0studio, based on the shared sense that craft and mathematics are equal players without\u00a0hierarchical differences between them. Several times a year we organized workshops in\u00a0community centers and museums open to the public \u2014 families, teachers, children, and adults\u00a0\u2014 to engage them in the kind of investigations, craftwork, and reflections that we pursued. A\u00a0forthcoming book entitled \u201cCrafting Mathematics\u201d describes our experiences. Our emerging\u00a0perspectives advance the notion that working on the egalitarian continuities between crafts and\u00a0mathematics offers opportunities to integrate hands and brains, as well as materiality and\u00a0imaginaries, towards rethinking anew what counts as concrete and abstract and enriching our\u00a0encounters with mathematics and crafts.
